Thai Passport
I want to help my Thai girlfriend get a Thai passport.
How do I get a passport for a Thai lady? A Thai passport can be obtained at the Passport Division of the Department of Consular Affairs. Walk in applicants can apply in person at the:
Department of Consular Affairs, 123 Chaengwattana Rd., Laksi, Bangkok.
or at the 3 Temporary Passport Offices in Bangkok (Bangna, Pinklao and Thailand’s Overseas Employment Service Center).
The offices are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 -15:30 hrs.
In an effort to stay abreast of Western standards and create a safer image for Thai Nationals The Ministery of Foreign Affairs Thailand is now issuing an electronic passport which contains technical specifications that comply with the standards set out by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
If necessary, applicants for a Thai passport may designate a representative to pick-up their new e-Passports or request that their e-Passports be express-mailed to them.
Applicants outside of Bangkok are required to apply for postage service which will take 5 to 7 working days for the e-Passports to be mailed to them through EMS (Express Mail Service).
To pick-up e-Passports, applicants must take their notifications of e-Passport pick-up date, issued to them on the day of applying for the passport, together with their Citizenship I.D.Cards and other applicable documents to present at the time of pick up.
At the time of writing this the Thai passport application fees are as follow:
